英国纪念日－Remembrance Service
今天起了大早，主要是昨天一天都没有出门， 下雨， 加上身体还没有完全康复。
打开收音机BBC2台， 心不在焉的听着音乐， 突然， 主持人说英雄纪念日是11月11日， 11点钟的时候全国默哀2分钟。难怪BBC网站上头版也是罂粟花呢。 天气好像还不错， 乘下雨之前出去走走吧。 自从回来了， 还没有去后街看看， 于是我绕道上了圣彼得堡街道， 想去一直错过做礼拜的教堂(St. Matthew, Bayswater), 由于特殊纪念日， 他们的礼拜活动开始的早。 我蹑手蹑脚的一走进去， 没想到就看到神父从祭坛走下来去花环， 也巧， 花环就在我旁边，神父拉着我的手吧花环递给我， 我都慌了。 幸亏， 还有一个花环， 神父交给了一位高大的男人。 我和那位男士随着风琴和小号的音乐到神堂去敬献花环。 沐浴在严肃的音乐中， 我似乎做了一件伟大的事情， 为一战， 和二战以及其他战争中牺牲的烈士。
我知道拍照会很不尊重， 于是， 在快要结束的时候， 我偷偷的拍了一段录音， 和您共享。
当时， 我还想， 也许明年地震一周年的时候， 我们也可以选择一种四川比较普遍但是生命力又比较旺盛的花， 来祭奠和默哀那些在地震中遇难的国人， 同时， 也不是是个筹款公募的好机会去帮助幸存下来的人们。

英国：纪念第一次世界大战停战90周年
今天全英各地同时举行了纪念第一次世界大战停战90周年的活动，
仅存的 3 位参加过一次大战的老兵被邀请参加了在伦敦市中心阵亡将士碑前举行的纪念活动。上午11点时，各地默哀2分钟。本周《卫报》随报附送了一次大战历史知识手册。
记者 Khaled Diab 在《卫报》撰文说，当人们在纪念一次大战的2千万伤亡者时，似乎都忽略了大批来自英法殖民地和其它盟国的参战者：27万来自西北非马格雷布地区(包括摩洛哥、阿尔及利亚、突尼斯、利比亚、毛里塔尼亚等地)、13万来自西非、15万来自印度次大陆；其他包括美国的印第安人、加拿大的爱斯基摩人、新西兰的毛里人、澳大利亚原住民；还有战场上的大批(14万)华工。
